Black Flash timing and combo method
Use the video to see the cue, then practise it yourself instead of copying the edit.
Open media referenceThe input
- Choose Vessel from the character menu.
- Press
3once for Divergent Fist. - Wait for the preparation animation and its visual cue.
- Press
3a second time during the cue. - Red-and-black sparks mean the Black Flash connected.
The common mistake is reading this as “double tap 3.” It is not. The first press starts a move; the second press is a timing window. If you press the second 3 before the cue, you simply get the normal move or a whiff.

Make the practice repeatable
Start from M1 × 3, not from a random full-screen Divergent Fist. The opponent should be in a state where the first press has a job. Miss three times, then stop and reset the drill: land the M1 string, pause, press 3, watch the animation, press 3.
In public servers, Black Flash is strongest as a confirm or a punish. It is weakest when you throw it because the cooldown is ready. Keep your dash and evasive in mind; the other player is allowed to interrupt the setup.
What to do after the spark
Do not immediately improvise a ten-button route. Use the simple follow-up you already know—jump into 2 or finish with 1—then return to neutral. Once the timing is stable, test Black Flash chaining in a private server and record the version, ping and character state. Community combo pages list several variants, but none of them can promise the same result after every update.
